Abstract: We study self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) models by exploring the formation and evolution of large-scale structures in such models using N-Body simulations. We aim to investigate observable effects of dark matter-dark matter scattering for different scattering cross-sections in a cosmological simulation. We are using the Gadget-2 code, which we modified to incorporate interactions between dark matter particles for this study. We consider both velocity-dependent and velocity-independent scattering events in an isotropic scattering scenario. We present results in the form of characteristics of halos and subhalos, focusing on the halo density profile and shape, subhalo mass function, and subhalo distribution within the larger halos. We highlight the observational inputs that can be used to put limits on the scattering cross-section.
