The Public Outreach and Education Committee of the ASI is in the process of creating and updating various databases of public interest. We would like to release an initial version of these databases at the ASI, and hence we request the relevant people to please fill these in by 10 May 2026.
All these databases will be made public on the ASI & POEC websites.
(1) Institutions offering astronomy in undergraduate, masters, Ph.D programs
If you institution offers astronomy as courses, a degree, or a part degree, in the undergraduate of masters programs, or offers a PhD in astronomy (even if as a Physics PhD), please fill in the form at https://forms.gle/DT8EYioYYDap1uLU6 We request that interested parties please coordinate with your colleagues so that only one entry is submitted for each institution/department.
(2) Books and popular articles by ASI members
If any ASI member has published books (textbooks or popular books, or book chapters) or popular articles (NOT research articles in journals) on astronomy, please fill in the details at https://forms.gle/kauXSmioXLkHhXC79
(3) Planetaria in India
We invite all planetaria (including those which operate only mobile planetaria) to fill in the database form at https://forms.gle/cM42WdCS1tiNXxZw8
(4) Amateur Astronomy Organisations in India
We have been circulating a form to obtain details of amateur astronomy organisations. If an organisation you know has not yet filled in the form, please ask them to do so at https://forms.gle/7kVFS6s8X72RdFky8
