Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to an online workshop titled “From Emission Lines to Physical Conditions: Nebular Diagnostics of ISM with PyNeb”, to be held on February 19, 2026, at 7:30 PM IST/ 11:00 AM CLT.

This workshop is organized by the Indian Astronomers Around the World (IAAW), a global network of Indian astronomers dedicated to fostering collaboration, interaction, and skill-sharing within our community. As part of our ongoing initiative, we are hosting a series of workshops and lectures focused on widely used astronomical tools and modern analysis techniques.

We are grateful to Dr. Christophe Morisset (Instituto de Astronomía, UNAM), lead developer of PyNeb, for agreeing to lead this session.

The session will include conceptual discussions along with practical guidance on using PyNeb for real data analysis. Time will be reserved for questions and interaction.

This workshop will be particularly useful for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and anyone working on emission-line spectroscopy across cosmic scales: from H II regions and planetary nebulae to star-forming galaxies and the extragalactic ISM.
