Call for Proposal (2020-2021 term)
Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory (TRAO) would like to call for new proposals using 14m radio telescope for 2020-2021 term (from October 2020 to May 2021).

Project Title: “Connecting Solar Interior Dynamics to Variable Solar Activity and Space Weather”
PI: S.P. Rajaguru (IIA, Bengaluru)Co-I's: H.M. Antia (TIFR, Mumbai), Brajesh Kumar (USO/PRL, Udaipur), and K. Nagaraju (IIA, Bengaluru)
A Junior Research Fellow position to work on the above titled project under the Core Research Grant(CRG) scheme funded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Department of Scienceand Technology (DST) is available at IIA, Bengaluru as early as July 2020.
PhDs in Planetary Science / Astronomy / Physics / Geoscience / Chemistry or relevant background may apply. Candidates with planetary science and related background to the project and programming skills are preferred.
The Google form is meant to collect information about PhD thesis in astronomy and related areas. We will create a local database and also contribute to astrogen project (astrogen.aas.org).

Position:Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Looking for highly motivated candidates interested in areas of surface compositional and morphological studies of inner solar system rocky and outer solar system icy bodies, geologic and geochemical evolution, planetary geology and early Earth geology, asteroids and comets, meteorites and planetary analogue/sample, etc.
PhDs with Planetary Science / Geoscience / Physics / Chemistry or relevant background may apply. Candidates with good expertise and research quality in the mentioned areas are preferred. The position is for three years, subject to performance and review each year.
150 yrs of the periodic table: “Chemical elements in the Universe: origin and evolution’’ to be held at Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore during 16 - 19 December 2019.

Greetings. The SOC of the 38th meeting of the Astronomical Society of India (ASI) has asked me to organize a session titled "Teaching in Astronomy" on the 14th of February from 1600 hr to 1730 hr. The total duration is 1.5 hr. As you are aware the 38th meeting of ASI will be held at IISER Tirupati.
Applications are invited for the position of postdoctoral research associate in gravitational wave physics and astronomy at Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), India. The position is for two years extendable for another year upon satisfactory performance. The required qualification is a PhD in Physics or Astronomy. Those who have submitted their PhD thesis can also apply. Screening of the applications will start in November 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
