Prof. Bhaskar Datta was a renowned astrophysicist who passed away 25 years ago on 03 December 1999 at the age of only 50. His untimely demise was a big loss for the Indian astronomy. This is to commemorate his contribution. One can know about him from a tribute published in BASI after his death:
