Publication of a book by Prof. Unnikrishnan. C. S.

My second book, describing several original research results, is published by Springer Nature this week. It is titled "New Relativity in the Gravitational Universe: The theory of Cosmic Relativity and its experimental evidence" (Springer/Fundamental Theories of Physics). The contents call for a total revision of the physical basis of relativity and dynamics, supported amply and rigorously by several experimental results. Announcing Galflows 2023, from 2-5 February, at IUCAA

We would like to announce the Galflows2023 meeting to be organized at IUCAA from 2-5 February. The (in-person) workshop will bring together researchers in India working on the topics of galactic outflows and inflows, and how they impact galaxy evolution in general. Second Aditya-L1 Support Cell (AL1SC) workshop announcement

We are happy to announce the second AL1SC workshop that will be conducted at  Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Udupi, Karnataka from 28th November 2022 to 30th November 2022. This is a thematic workshop focusing on the studies of solar flares in the solar atmosphere. This workshop is primarily for students who are pursuing Ph.D./Integrated Ph.D. or those who have passed M.Sc (Physics/Astronomy) with an interest and motivation to work in solar physics. The subject experts will give several exciting lectures and hands-on sessions on data analysis.

Empowering Young Scientists Questionnaire

The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, along with the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, and the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS) have developed the EYS (short for Empowering Young Scientists) Questionnaire. The questionnaire aims to get a comprehensive view of ideas from young researchers (≤ 45 years of age) to strengthen the Science, Technology, and Innovation ecosystem in India.

Aditya-L1/SUIT Payload Data Scientist position at IUCAA, Pune

The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune is seeking to fill a Data Scientist position to support the operation of the Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) on board Aditya L1 mission. SUIT is one of the payloads on board the Aditya- L1 mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2023. It will observe the Sun in the wavelength range of 200-400 nm using 11 science filters tuned to probe different heights in the solar atmosphere, covering the photosphere and chromosphere.
