Ramesh Chander Kapoor, a renown astrophysicist and historian of astronomy, passed away in Bengaluru on 21st August 2024, after a brief illness.
He served as the Treasurer of the Astronomical Society of India during 2004-2007 and 2007-2010 and was a Life Member of the ASI, as well as a member of the IAU.
We are delighted to announce the Young Astronomers' Meet 2025-II (YAM-2025-II) hosted by Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. The conference will take place from December 5th to 7th, 2025.

This is to inform you that the tenth edition of the Indo-French Astronomical School on Spectroscopy and Spectrographs (IFAS10) will be hosted in IUCAA.
IFAS10 is the tenth edition of a series of schools co-organized by the Center for Research in Astrophysics Lyon (CRAL) and the Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune, India.
The first edition was held in 2015 in Pune. Subsequent schools have been hosted between Lyon and Pune every other year, and every year we host students from all over the world.
Dr. Gopal Charyulu Kilambi passed away on 13 July 2025 following a sudden fall and subsequent cardiac arrest. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he could not be revived. His passing marks the end of a distinguished life dedicated wholly to the pursuit of knowledge and the advancement of astronomy. Dr. Kilambi earned his Ph.D. in 1975 from the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Dr. Robert H. Koch. During his academic career, he collaborated with several eminent researchers, including Dr. William Blitzstein and Dr. Binnendijk.
