Modern Engineering Trends in Astronomy (META-2023) at RRI from 1-4 Nov 2023

A conference on Modern Engineering Trends in Astronomy (META-2023) is being jointly organized by Raman Research Institute, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Physical Research Laboratory. META provides a common platform for students, engineers, and scientists working in the field of Astronomical Instrumentation to share ideas and discuss the recent engineering trends in building instruments for research in astronomy.

AKR centenary program at IMSc Chennai (October 5-7, 2023)

We are delighted to announce a conference "AKR centenary program" during October 5-7, 2023 at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. In this program, we will discuss the works of Professor Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri and remember him as the scientist, the teacher, and the visionary. We will have technical seminars followed by

MeerKAT Absorption Line Survey (MALS) first data release

Dear Colleagues,

"The MeerKAT Absorption Line Survey team has released radio continuum images and a catalog of 495,325 radio sources detected over an area of 2289 deg2 from 391 telescope pointings at 1 - 1.4 GHz.  The catalogs and images are publicly available at https://mals.iucaa.in.  This is the first of several radio continuum and spectral line data releases to come from MALS. "
